- L'Augette Guest House

- Originally a farmhouse built
in the nineteenth century, it was completely refurbished by us
during 2002 to provide 5 luxurious new guest rooms, all with
private ensuite bathrooms.

- L'Augette has a spacious garden
in which to relax and soak up the sun.

- L'Augette is biker friendly
(2 of the owners are bikers), and has plenty of parking space
for both cars and motorcycles. We also have facilities for small
on the spot repairs to bikes.

- L'Augette is situated in the
south eastern corner of the departement of Indre in the centre
of France, approximately 300 kilometres (200 miles) south of
Paris.
- We are at the meeting point
of three regions: Centre-Val-de-Loire (our region), Limousin
and Auvergne.

- By road we are only a few hours
from the western channel ports (St Malo, Cherbourg, Caen &
Le Havre)

- L'Augette is situated in an
area traditionally known as Berry.
- It is a land of wheatfields,
cattle farms, vineyards, ancient forests and lakes, rolling hills,
peaceful villages and charming manor houses.
- As it is still slightly off
the main tourist track, the region still offers a chance to sample
the peace and tranquility of rural France.

- La Châtre has a very
lively Saturday market, and a picturesque old town with many
quaint houses, as well as numerous modern leisure activities
including a pool (newly opened in 2002) and a golf course. During
the summer there are many classical music festivals held here.
