Axiat is a town in the Ariege department
of the Midi-Pyrenees region. The town has a lovely 13th century
Romanesque Church. The road through Axiat is a medieval pilgrimage
road, the Route de Corniche, which was also regularly used by
the Cathar priests to administer to many of the villages in the
region. |

The Midi - Pyrenees region in southwest
